Mariah Frazier-Espejo, PA is an accomplished Physician Assistant student at Colorado Mesa University, set to graduate in May 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bloomfield College, where she graduated cum laude and received the Charles Gross Excellence in Science Award for the highest science GPA in her graduating class. Mariah’s rigorous academic journey includes an Associate’s Degree in Science from Olympic College.

Currently, Mariah is deeply involved in her master’s program, where she has been elected the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair of the Physician Assistant Student Committee. Her capstone paper focuses on initiating student-led diversity, equity, and inclusion training in physician assistant education to enhance cultural consciousness—a testament to her commitment to fostering inclusive healthcare environments.

Mariah’s clinical experience is extensive and diverse, with rotations in family medicine, behavioral health, women’s health, emergency medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and more across various states, including Colorado and Oregon. She has demonstrated proficiency in several EMR systems and has substantial experience as a Lead Medical Scribe and Trainer at Scribe-X in Portland, OR, where she enhanced workflow efficiency across multiple specialties.

Dedicated to community service, Mariah has volunteered with organizations such as Portland Street Medicine and the Good Samaritan Clinic, providing care and support to underserved populations. She is a recipient of the 2023 Rural Health Mentorship program scholarship and her student society won the AAPA Student Society of the Year award for their volunteer efforts.

Mariah’s career is characterized by her passionate advocacy for accessible and inclusive health care, her academic excellence, and her proactive engagement in community service.
